10 Activities to Entertain Kids During COVID-19 Quarantine

With the extension of social distancing guidelines, are you running out of activities to keep your kids entertained at home? We get it, we were too! That’s why we got to work looking for fun activities to keep kids entertained and parents sane 😊 Here is our list of 10 fun things you can do with kids to help avoid cabin fever during the Coronavirus quarantine.

  1. Build a fort

This was one of our favorite things to do as kids and it requires no additional supplies than ones you can find at home! Get out extra sheets, blankets and pillows – don’t forget to grab a few board games!

Work with your kids to use their imagination. Ask them to decide on the best spot to build a fort, what they need to pack to bring into the fort, and have them work on a list of all the materials needed to build it.

  1. Create a TikTok Video

TikTok is the newest social media trend and if you haven’t downloaded the app, you should! The videos are so entertaining and instantly make you want a create one of your own. There are easy-to-follow videos that you can save without posting on TikTok if you don’t want anyone else to see them.

  1. Create Your Own Gym

Missing your regular workout routine or gym? So are we! There are so many fun and creative ways to transform your home, backyard, or front yard into your own gym. Working out with your kids will allow them to release their energy and is a great stress reliever for you as well. The more involved you can make your little ones in the planning and execution, the more excited and involved they will be!

  1. Bake Together

Baking is a great teaching lesson that results in treats for the entire family! It will teach your kids how to work together, follow directions, and create something from start to finish.

The Bazzle Baby GoBib Folding Feeding Bib is perfect for easy clean-up after a messy cooking session or meal. It folds into itself to contain all the mess in a ball and can be easily wiped, cleaned or washed. This is a time to enjoy your kids and this will make cleaning a little easier!

  1. Paint Night

DIY at-home art classes can be a good time for some friendly competition to see who is the most artistic in your household. Don’t worry about trying to do this on your own if it isn’t your thing, there are plenty of painting tutorials online. Let them be the teacher!

  1. Get Creative with Sidewalk Chalk

This is an inexpensive and fun outdoor activity to get some fresh air! Some of our favorite ones we’ve seen are kids writing encouraging words to help motivate others during the Coronavirus pandemic. It’s a nice reminder that we are all in this together, and we can do this.

  1. Have a Picnic

Depending on where you live, this can easily be done inside or outside. This is a fun activity that gets kids involved with the planning, setting up, and clean up (you read that right, clean up!).

  1. Let the Kids Be the Teacher

Ask your kids to be a teacher for a day. Ask them to pick a profession, animal or object they want to learn more about. Set aside time for them to research and put together a lesson plan. Then, sit down as a family and learn together! This will develop their research and presentation skills while giving you some time to get some work done.

  1. Movie Nights

Since going to the movies isn’t an option, create your own family movie night. Get out the blankets, popcorn and pajamas and take time to unwind together.

  1. Walk it Out

When in doubt, walk it out! Being inside for too long can make anyone go stir crazy. If you or anyone else in your house is feeling antsy, go for a walk.

The Bazzle Baby GoBlanket is the accessory for a walk on a Spring afternoon. This super soft blanket is just the right size to fit any stroller or carseat with integrated clips to attach it, so you will never have to worry about it becoming lost or dirty due to drops. It features a cotton designed front and a fuzzy fleece back to provide warmth and comfort for parents and baby.

We hope these ideas are helpful in entertaining your kids during this time of social distancing. Don’t worry if you end up on a Netflix series marathon or let them play video games longer than normal. There will be days where you just don’t have the time or the energy to do activities and that’s ok, they will be just fine. Do what you need to do and take it day by day. We are in this together!
